Best Beaches in Punta Cana
Punta Cana has over 48 km of Caribbean coastline. Not all beaches are the same — this guide helps you choose the one that best fits what you're looking for.
1.Bávaro Beach
The most famous beach in Punta Cana and one of the most photographed in the world. Near-perfect white sand, turquoise waters and natural palms. This is the beach in front of most of the large resort zones. Ideal for all types of travelers.
2.Macao Beach
The only wild and public beach in Punta Cana with no private resorts. Wilder with bigger waves than Bávaro — perfect for surfers. Local food and drink vendors right on the beach.
3.Arena Gorda Beach
A less crowded stretch of beach between Bávaro and Macao. Considered by many to be the most beautiful due to its extremely fine sand and calmer waters. Access through some resorts.
4.Cap Cana Beach
Punta Cana's premium beach. Inside the exclusive Cap Cana resort, it's harder to access but worth it. Crystal-clear waters, white sand and world-class service.
5.Cortecito Beach
The heart of local tourism in Punta Cana. Full of restaurants, bars and local vendors. Less impressive visually than Bávaro but with an authentic local energy that resorts don't offer.
